Black Dynamite’s Michael Jai White goes Mr Miyagi in this cheesy DTV sequel to the 2008 brawler. The plot’s suitably bare-boned – amid numerous rock-soundtracked training montages, we shadow a quartet of neckless types preparing to compete in underground fight competition The Beatdown. As hyphenated writer-director-star, White’s a rugged ringleader, but his charges get lumbered with soap-opera storylines (gay dad, busted retina, poor mum). Extras are two ropy deleted scenes and a lazy commentary.
