Japanese provocateur Takashi Miike ditches his usual yakuza obsessions for this deliriously jittery J-horror entry about a group of students (including Battle Royale’s Kou Shibasaki) menaced by their mobiles. A derivative remake of Korean flick Phone, it’s not worth getting hung up on, although a live, televised countdown to one girl’s impending death (complete with exorcist!) proves memorably creepy.
