Evil has a new name: Esther. Nine years old, she dresses quaint, likes to paint and gets away with murder under the noses of her new adoptive parents (Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard).
Overlong, vaguely xenophobic and, well, ridiculous, this creepy-kid scarer is nonetheless a barrel of black laughs, with a bitch-perfect lead turn from Isabelle Fuhrman.
Spoiler-wary? Avoid the featurette that blows the mad twist.
