Perfect Sense

Romance played out against the backdrop of a global epidemic

It does indeed make perfect sense that Ewan McGregor and Eva Green – two actors who’ve spent more screen time nude than Ron Jeremy – join forces for David Mackenzie’s intimate apocalypse.

And it’s their chemistry, both in and out of bed, that leavens some of the pretensions dogging this tale of personal romance played out against the backdrop of a global epidemic that’s slowly stripping people of their senses.

First goes smell, then goes taste; by the time everyone’s hearing switches off your patience may be strained. Yet for every risible scene, there’s one that will make you goggle, gasp or blub like a tiny baby.
