Porky's I&II

3

Probably the biggest single influence on the current glut of sex-obsessed teen flicks, the Porky's movies are most fondly remembered for the dick-through-the- shower-room-wall sketch. But, in truth, they're a curious proposition, juggling endless shag-gags and jock-jests with anti-bigotry subplots and setting the whole she(gang)bang against an airbrushed '50s backdrop. The original sees the lads of Angel Beach take on Porky, the repugnant redneck owner of a seedy strip-joint, while the sequel pits our heroes against a band of religious zealots and the Ku Klux Klan.

Verdict:

Though not as funny as some people's memories would have you believe, Porky's still stands up proud and erect. Not so the sequel, which reunites director and cast but misses the mark, the stretched jokes proving more tortuous than humorous this time out. And as for the "extras"...
