Three Aboriginal girls are torn away from their parents by the harsh race laws of early 20th century Oz. They escape from their captors and walk hundreds of miles back home. While Phillip Noyce’s film veers towards the worthy, it’s hard not be caught up in this incredible true story.
DVD Extras:
Noyce's commentary lacks spontaneity but contains some interesting facts. (Harrison Ford's demands for rewrites on The Sum Of All Fears are what drove Noyce back Down Under to make Rabbit-Proof Fence.) For once the commentary actually supplements the Making Of, rather than just rehashing it.
