Slam-bang director Walter Hill recycles his 48 Hrs buddy blueprint, swapping black-meets-white for East-meets-West. You know the drill: Arnold Schwarzenegger's reticent Russian and James Belushi's gobshite Chicago cop go on the hunt for a murderous drug runner, finding plenty of time for chases and gun battles while doing their bit for Glasnost.
Verdict:
Forget the politics (Hill certainly does). With Belushi cracking wise and Arnie cracking skulls, this high concept mix of dumb humour and smart action is `80s entertainment wrapped up and ready to go.
