Resident Evil

1

Gaming addict Paul WS Anderson must have been stoked when he was offered Resident Evil, especially as the other guy up for the job was George A Romero. Shame he was too busy playing with his joystick to come up with a decent movie. Zombies, guns and Milla Jovovich may sound like a teen’s wet dream, but Anderson directs it into the grave. Mechanical, humourless and so unscary it’s frightening, this is one of the most lacklustre cinema ‘events’ for some time. Romero hasn’t made a decent movie for ages, but at least he knows which side of the camera the zombies should be on.
