Director Jacques Maillot’s loving homage to those ’70s sideburns-and-slap-the-snitch French policiers takes its sweet time setting up its tough, winding tale of cop brother versus hardman brother.
The sluggish pacing is as much of a chore as Guillaume Canet’s moony, tortured cop, but François Cluzet (Tell No One) is craggily compelling as fate-snookered jailbird Gabriel.
But if you’ve seen We Own The Night, you needn’t rush to this. No extras.
