Director Tom Tykwer defies art-house obscurities with this MTV-style, plot-hopping thriller. Inventively shot and well-paced (it's so effectively frenetic that the running time comes in at an admirably trim 77 minutes), Run Lola Run also benefits from a witty script and a thumping, trancey score.
