Hijacking the Dutch Santa Claus legend, Dick Maas’ camp-as-Christmas horror casts the villainous Sint Niklas (Huub Stapel) as a child-stealing demon who wreaks havoc every time there’s a festive full moon.
Pity this lively eurotrash doesn’t quite live up to its premise, with two prologues and some lengthy exposition interrupting such Yuletide fun as a spectacular sleigh chase across Amsterdam’s snowy roofs and Sint Nik galloping through an ophanage.
There’s decent gore too, but expect eyes – as well as heads – to roll come the climax.
