Photophobic teen (Junio Valverde) and mum (Mar Sodupe) flee the sweltering city for the Spanish mountains, only to find strange sheep-slaughtering afoot in the woods, of which Valverde is soon suspected. So goes the clunky set-up to Isidro Ortiz’s otherwise effective horror, which plays like a perkier, more exotic Outcast. Once the pieces are in place, there’s 45 minutes of tense lost-in-the-forest kills and a genuinely alarming home-alone sequence. Then creepy eventually gives way to convoluted, but it’s still a classy little genre twist.
