It may sit in the shadow of Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous, but Singles has been unduly maligned, even by director Cameron Crowe himself. Nobody's saying it's perfect, but it is hugely entertaining, a warm-yet-honest look at sex, love and relationships set against the growth of Seattle's grunge scene. The backdrop now looks a little quaint, but that's a minor niggle given that the stalwart Crowe features - - witty chat, fine performances and a killer soundtrack - - are all present and correct.
