Splinter

3

Terror in the woodwork...

A convict and a couple hole up in a gas station after a parasite, which infects hosts via tiny splinters, turns locals into contorted undead bodybits.

Riffing on The Thing, this formulaic, straight-to- DVD horror is brought to life by well-drawn, resourceful characters and neat, nasty shocks.

The budget-led shaky-cam means you never get a proper look at the ‘monster’, but it’s still a fresh cut of familiar meat.
