Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over

3

Daryl Sabara's Juni grabs the spotlight as Robert Rodriguez wraps up his sprog-spy trilogy with this Generation GameCube-inspired finale. Searching a mysterious, dangerous virtual world for his trapped sis, Juni's confronted by myriad compu-monsters and Sly Stallone, who has the acting dial set to Maxi-Ham.

Yes, this is the first 3-D DVD feature - - glasses included! - - and certainly the movie has its moments, but the skimpy plot's clever-clever third-dimensional trickery eventually grates. Still, Rodriguez's infectious enthusiasm for his new toy just about carries it through.
