Here's a little film that slipped through the cracks years ago: a 1978 TV movie from horror director Wes Craven about a teenager (Linda Blair) who begins to suspect that her hillbilly cousin (Lee Purcell) is bewitching the family with redneck magic. Something Wicca this way comes? Uh-huh. With a bunch of nervous suits breathing down Craven's neck, this was never going to be another Last House On The Left. But that still doesn't excuse the witchcraft-for-beginners dullness.
DVD Extras:
Comprehensive biographies of the director and star are boosted by a yak-track from Craven and producer Max Keller. ""Over the years I've gotten cheques on this film every year"," claims a clearly bemused Craven. No mate, we can't believe it either.
