Teen Wolf/Teen Wolf Too

3

A hit springboarded by Back To The Future, 1985's Teen Wolf married John Hughes-style comedy to '50s schlock with its story of an adolescent coming to terms with inherited lupine tendencies. With an appealing lead in Michael J Fox - - who said of the part: ""I have no idea what I was thinking"" - - the puberty comedy is uncertain whether it's addressing racial issues, celebrity or coming-of-age. But Rod Daniel's film comes up trumps with pacy basketball scenes and strong chemistry between the cast.

The needless sequel/remake Teen Wolf Too (the title is the smartest thing) surfaced two years later with Jason Bateman as the new lead. Lacking Fox's charisma, Bateman is a poor substitute while returning characters only add to the sense of déjà vu.
