The course of sitcom love never runs smooth – because that wouldn’t be funny, right? Year six of 3rd Rock... creators Bonnie and Terry Turner’s Happy Days for the noughties is the ‘characters get engaged’ season. Goofy Eric Forman (Topher Grace) and longtime squeeze Donna (Laura Prepon) do the nervy nuptials two-step, while Ashton Kutcher puts a bun in AP’s Shannon Elizabeth’s oven. There’s genuine pathos as Eric’s dad Red (Kurtwood Smith) weathers a dicky ticker while mom Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) questions their marriage. Even dodgy immigrant stereotype Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) deepens… a little.
