The spirit of '60s pop gets a gentle airing with this breezy slice of nostalgia, as fictional garage band The Wonders find themselves topping the charts with a crap-but-catchy hit. Written and directed by Tom Hanks, who also appears as a slippery record label bigwig, this amiable, good-looking comedy hums with enough charm, innocence and optimism to enable you to forgive the endless clichés.

The featurette is standard studio-approved fluff, full of twittering sycophants and soundbite-spewing mannequins, and who really wants to see the Spanish and Italian trailers? Still, the music vids are better - - if you can face hearing the annoyingly catchy title track one more time.
