The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert

A decade on, Stephan Elliott's drag-queens-in-the-Outback comedy remains the cuddly, something-for-everyone empress of Aussie camp. The bitching, surreal drag and presence of Neighbours hunk Guy Pearce (""I kept asking him to take his shirt off"," Elliott cackles) ensure its queer-classic status and brushes with gay-bashing add a tart teaspoon of politicisation. A father-and-nipper reunion and odd-couple romance (Bill Hunter and Terence Stamp) supply the mainstream-friendly aw-bless.
