Houses don't have memories... Unless they're possessed by a very pissed-off evil spirit. That's the premise of this supposed true story, with James Brolin's white-bread family moving into the titular dream house only for it to become a bloody nightmare. The great build-up of tension and sinister atmosphere (with Brolin becoming increasingly wild-eyed and attached to his axe) dissipates dramatically in the final act, but it remains striking '70s schlock: The Exorcist possessed by The Shining.
