Amnesiac action-man Matt Damon cracks skulls like Jet Li and rags a Mini like Charlie Croker. Pity the plot isn’t so sleek.

Another disc that looks like the real deal, but ends up a less-than-memorable affair. The Birth Of The Bourne Identity is an okay featurette that rolls along on a grab-bag of blabs from cast and crew. Four deleted scenes boil down to extended takes and the alternate ending was chopped for good reason. Just as well, then, that Doug Liman's commentary is a good effort. The helmer gives a real feel for the filmmaking experience as he recalls the challenges of the chilly continental shoot.
