Based on a 1962 Patricia Highsmith novel, this wintry thriller finds lonely divorcé Paddy Considine drawn into a relationship with local flake Julia Stiles that results in him being suspected of murdering her boyfriend. A couple of twists and some gory turns can’t energise this sluggish misfire.
