The Eye

Jessica Alba’s portrayal of a classical violinist is not the least-plausible thing about The Eye, which should tell you everything you need to know about this risible suspenser from David Moreau and Xavier Palud, the directing duo behind French sleeper Them. Paired with scribe Sebastian Gutierrez (Gothika), the creatives conjure a dull remake that shames even the modest charms of the Pang Brothers’ original. The ineptitude of the shocks and the woeful predictability of the supposedly clever-clever structure make this so-bad-it’s-not-even-funny. Avoid.
