This third movie in the gentleman detective series is actually based on Raymond Chandler’s novel Farewell, My Lovely. The Falcon stands in for Philip Marlowe, but this version of the story disappoints, shoehorning flip humour into an otherwise serious tale.
Rushed, and not a patch on 1944 adap Murder, My Sweet.
