Cate Blanchett plays Annie, a widowed mother of three with a sideline in fortune telling. When Katie Holmes' local beauty disappears, Annie's premonitions help provide clues to the mystery. Prime suspect is bearded redneck Keanu Reeves, who's also got it in for Annie and her "Satanic" ways. Greg Kinnear, Hilary Swank and Giovanni Ribisi complete the solid cast for this Deep South psychological thriller, but it's Blanchett's focussed and convincing performance that helps keep a rein on the supernatural hokum.

Behind the scenes featurette, cast and crew interviews, trailer, TV and radio spots.Former king of hysterical horror Sam Raimi keeps the tone subdued and eerie, but things never reach the seat-gripping stage. Also, disappointingly, the featurette is no more than an extended trailer, while the "approximate" running times of the extras as listed on the box are definitely exaggerated.
