The Hound Of The Baskervilles

Peter Cook and Dudley Moore star as Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson in a barking 1977 spoof of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic. Directed, bizarrely, by Andy Warhol cohort Paul Morrissey, it draws its inspiration from music hall and features a cast of British comic actors, including Terry-Thomas and Kenneth Williams, in supporting roles. It's an uneven affair, but when the gags work - such as in a scene involving Dud, Denholm Elliott and a stream of dog piss - it's freakishly brilliant.
