The Last Emperor

4

Bernardo Bertolucci's colourful epic tells the tale of China's last emperor, Pu Yi, who, at the age of three, ruled half the world's population. After a revolution the youngster is cast out into a world he's never seen before. This is one movie which has long been screaming for the DVD treatment.

Trailers. Here's an exclusive, fly-on-the-wall docu-soap-style look at a DVD production meeting:"Next up, The Last Emperor. Okay, it says here that it's a `classic'. Can people think of anything to put on this?""Um, what about a documentary all about how they were allowed to film inside the Forbidden City. Maybe some deleted scenes. Oh, and the cast and crew must have some interesting stuff to say; it won nine Oscars." "Yes. We could do that. But I do have a couple of trailers here, and the pubs will shut in 15 minutes. Let's go!" "Mine's half a shandy!"
