The only bad thing about Finding Nemo was that it queered the pitch for animated features like this. Hand-drawn, looking like The Snowman with fur, The Little Polar Bear feels more like an extended TV show than a movie. But what do you expect from a flick aimed at under-fives?
A basic plot, for starters: Lars (Wesley Singerman), the ursine hero, makes friends with Robbie (Brianne Siddall), a seal. Problem is, seals and polar bears are supposed to be enemies... With more than a whiff of The Fox And The Hound about it, this is the kind of film that makes tots bounce and clap while simpering parents go "Aaah". Anyone else should go watch something else. Finding Nemo, perhaps?
