The Losers

3

When you can't find a hero, call the losers!

Despite what the posters for The A-Team told you, it turns out there is a plan B, and its name is The Losers.

This zingy comic-book adap is the ‘betrayed spec ops badasses’ story writ smaller – shrunken budget, mid-range stars and a no-name director.

And, when you lower your expectations accordingly, the end result is remarkably effective, fizzing with a flash-edited energy.

The cast ace it too, especially an excitable Chris Evans and swarthy leader Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

There are downers – the tracing-paper plot, the wanton lack of any substance – but none that blow the movie’s mission to give your brain the evening off.

Being honest, I had never herd of 'the Losers' until the film was about to come out, but I have to say I enjoyed this movie a little more than 'the A-Team' and now having seen the movie I can't wait for the sequel and I'll probably get round to reading up on the comics. If you like the A-team, you'll like these guys.
