This is Bond by numbers: the fast cars, fast boats and fast women are all here, but there's little imagination at work. Indeed, the best that can be said about Roger Moore's bland 007 is that at least he's not George Lazenby. Christopher Lee, however is a class act as Scaramanga, saving the film from the depths of Octopussy-level clag.
DVD Extras:
Inside The Man With The Golden Gun documentary, Double-O Stuntmen documentary, commentary, trailers, TV spots, radio spots, gallery. The lukewarm feature is at least boosted by some entertaining extras. The Making Of doc charts the film's creation, and comes packed with anecdotes from the cast and crew. Double-O Stuntmen, meanwhile, focuses on the men who do the dangerous stuff, and shows how making Bond look good can be painful. Decent disc, then, but shame about the movie.
