Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey), an every day geek, discovers a magical mask that transforms him into a super-cool cartoon character. He hopes to turn his life around with his new powers, seemingly by shouting and spinning a lot.
DVD Extras:
Theatrical trailer, interview `bites', cast biogs, `B-roll', Making Of documentary, interactive menu, director's commentary.Definitely one of Carrey's best suited films, capturing his ability for improvisation and combining it with superb special effects. The visual references will delight fans of the old 'toons, while a genuinely interesting Making Of section and informative commentary are backed up by loads of other bits and pieces to fiddle with. The question remains: why put this much effort into a movie like The Mask, while so many other deeper films are wasted on more barren discs? Excellent, if somewhat pointless.
