It’s impossible to see The Producers too many times. Which is lucky, as this 40th anniversary disc adds little to the previous Special Edition. Laugh again at washed-up theatre producer Max Bialystock (Zero Mostel), his timid accountant Leo Bloom (Gene Wilder) and the glorious wrongness of anti-musical Springtime For Hitler. Then watch the Making Of and gain insight into the borderline comic genius. Who knew that yellow is the funniest colour in the spectrum? Mel Brooks, that’s who.
