Before he turned restaurant critic and TV insurance salesman, Michael Winner (who’s all over the extras) made dodgy exploitation flicks. Few were as hilariously awful as this Exorcist-lite devil flick about an apartment block built over a gateway to Hell. Totally moronic, it lets Winner unleash plasticine gore, lesbians in leotards and an army of physically deformed extras (who pour out of hell for a climax that’s less Hieronymus Bosch than utter tosh). Cristina Rains enthusiastically screams it up as the fashion model heroine. Calm down dear, it’s only a cheesy horror movie…
