The Seven Year Itch

4

Monroe's first teaming with Billy Wilder, a director who knew how to make the most - and then some - of Monroe's innate sense of comic timing. Writer Tom Ewell, left behind in sweltering NYC while wife and kids head for the coast, gets steamed up over the sexpot girl in the apartment upstairs. The humour, taken from a Broadway hit by George Axelrod, now rings a bit dated, but there are some classic fantasy sequences.
