This box set is available in a limited-edition shaped like Homer's head. If that doesn't spark a want-tantrum in your inner idiot-child, then you're lost to us.
Even by the usual high standards, season six is a stormer; revealing in 25 uniformly glorious episodes how the show hit a mid-'90s groove of all-over aceness that it's struggled to sustain since. It's the one where Lisa gets married in the future, Mr Burns gets shot, Marge joins the cops, the Lemon Tree gets nicked... It's also the point where the writers transcend Homer to a whole new level of forehead-slapping dumb-assery, without losing sight of the heart and humanity that makes him so equally monstrous and huggable.
The Simpsons is the sharpest, smartest, funniest, most marvellous and moreish thing that's ever been on television, ever. Season six is a celebration of the show in its raging pomp and if you still haven't got round to its multi-layered wonders, then we urge you to start by spending some money on this. And then buy seasons one through five. And then, chuck yourself down the stairs and snag a couple of months off work while you indulge in a damned good wallow - stories, characters, commentaries, background gags and all. We envy you.
DVD Extras: Audio commentary, Deleted Scenes, Sketch Gallery, Introduction From James L. Brooks & Much More.
