The Sopranos Season 6 Part 2

5

The last-ever episode may end with a post-modern whimper, but the ride that gets us there is full of bada-bing and bada-bang. From the premiere of Christopher’s slasher film to Junior’s continued slide into dementia, the Soprano kids growing up and Tony having to kill more friends and family, the final nine episodes of David Chase’s homage to the New Jersey Mafia are among some of the best ever filmed.

DVD Extras: But while the shows are a knockout, the only thing staggering about the boxset is how bland it feels. One episode commentary per each of the four discs (though nothing from James Gandolfini or any of the cast’s biggest names), a 15-minute doc about the series’ music and an – admittedly entertaining – mockumentary about Christopher’s movie simply don’t address just what a landmark show this was. You won’t feel cheated, more abandoned...
