The Tony Blair story continues in Peter Morgan’s third dramatisation of his life, a quasi-bromance that sees Michael Sheen’s PM bond with Dennis Quaid’s Bill Clinton through Northern Ireland, Kosovo and the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
As in The Deal and The Queen, Morgan gifts us a backstage pass to the corridors of power.
Though Richard Loncraine’s film sizzles with acerbic putdowns and waspish asides, it’s still a tale of two political has-beens whose relationship, 10 years on, doesn’t feel special at all.
