The Thirteenth Floor

2

This Roland Emmerich-produced cyber-thriller never quite scraped a cinema release in the UK and it's easy to see why - it's essentially a poor-man's Matrix, with all the usual reality-bending twists. The creator of a virtual world set in '30s America is brutally murdered, and it's up to his colleague Douglas Hall (Craig Bierko) to jump realities and solve the brain-screwing mystery.

DVD Extras:

Audio commentary by director Josef Rusnak and the production designer, before/after SFX comparison, conceptual art gallery, filmographies, music video, trailer.A watchable but never truly compelling film which, if the dull commentary is anything to go by, bored the director even more than it does the viewer. If you must visit The Thirteenth Floor, then it's definitely a case of rent rather than buy.
