Jason Statham takes his shot at becoming the next big action star, unleashing an impressive array of martial-arts moves bolted on to some truly awful thesping.
Playing an ex-soldier who now lives on the Côte d'Azur delivering shifty parcels with no questions asked, he casts aside neutrality when asked to "transport" a beautiful Chinese woman (Qi Shu). Bullets, chases and fist fights abound, all set to the obligatory heavy rock soundtrack.
DVD Extras:
You have to admire Statham's enthusiasm on the commentary - it's enough to make you wish the movie was better. The 12-minute Making Of explains why it wasn't, drawing attention to the multi-national cast and the speed-churned script. Not good.
