DVD Extras:
Commentary with McQuarrie and composer Joe Kraemer, isolated music score and composer's commentary, theatrical trailer, cast interviews, cast and crew biographies.Sticking Kraemer in the commentary booth with McQuarrie pays off big time as the music man does a neat job of keeping him on track. Informed and energetic, he's able to lasso McQuarrie's more wayward monologues and ensure all the whys and whens are covered. By the end, you'll know just how hard it is to make your first feature if you're deliberately trying to avoid crime-movie clichés. Kraemer's own commentary - in which he talks about film music in between all the cues - is just as entertaining. The cast interviews are disappointing, however, with superficial soundbites lasting just a few seconds each.
