Socially-concious courtroom drama

Knife crime, turf tussles… The themes are relevant, but John Frankenheimer’s film feels way too quaint.

Star Burt Lancaster looks bored as a compromised DA prosecuting Italian thugs in this courtroom anti-drama – a muddle of issues and West Side Story moves.
