Abstract thriller which would have been better as a short

Therapist review

Former Nick Cave bassist Barry Adamson makes his directorial debut with this anorexic 40-minute feature, a thriller about a screenwriter in therapy trying to write a movie about two Polish sisters. Or is he?

More art installation than arthouse, Therapist tries for Lynchian weirdness but ends up feeling like an overlong short that’s escaped from pseud’s corner.

A director interview reveals the perils of working with an artiste: “My cameraman said: ‘So you want me to shoot in a bathroom that’s 8 x10 feet, with mirrors everywhere and one actress playing two parts... in Polish?’”
