Part of Odeon’s ‘Best of British’ series, this vintage RKO release sees Anna Neagle play Hull-born aviatrix Amy Johnson, from rebellious schoolgirl (Neagle was 38 at the time...) to recordbreaker to casualty of war.
So serious it’s spoofy, every line is chocka with exposition and meaning but it’s undeniably stirring stuff.
