Two ghost stories sandwich a whodunit in this three-director portmanteau.
Orson Welles hams up the longest as a Foreign Secretary whose Welsh MP enemy invades his dreams.
But the standout is Wendy Toye’s opener, a chilling gem of bleak terror with a museum attendant lured into a painting. Despite Welles, acting honours go to Alan Badel, who features in all three episodes.
Top extra is Return To Glennascaul, a spooker in which Welles appeared as a favour to Dublin’s Abbey Theatre.
