Based on ER Braithwaite's novel, To Sir With Love sees a black teacher, Mark Thackeray (Sidney Poitier) going to work in a tough East End school where he encounters racism, unruly pupils and a very young Lulu. Opting to treat his class as young adults, he eventually wins their trust, but Thackeray must come to a decision about his future when he is offered another job elsewhere.
