Although it tested consistently badly in pre-release screenings, Terry Gilliam's dystopian nightmare went on to top box offices the world over. This particular version of "the end of the world as we know it" stars a bald Bruce Willis in a rare acting role as a 21st-century man who is sent into the past to find a pure form of the virus that'll wipe out five billion people.
DVD Extras:
Making Of documentary (The Hamster Factor). If there ever was a movie you needed to see again to work out what the hell happened, it's this one. But the best thing about this disc is the inclusion of The Hamster Factor, an 87-minute documentary commissioned by Gilliam as he wanted a record of what happened in case he found himself battling studio heads. Thanks to its almost total candour, it's one of the best film-making docs ever made.
