M Night Shyamalan's follow up to The Sixth Sense is another mournful, beautifully atmospheric thriller. Bruce Willis is fantastic as a down-at-heel security guard forced to question his destiny by Samuel L Jackson's eccentric comic book dealer.
DVD Extras:
Behind The Scenes, Comic Books And Superheroes featurettes, Night's First Fight, deleted scenes, Multi-Angle Train Station Sequence, trailer. There's no commentary and the Station sequence isn't all that, but the excerpt from one of Shyamalan's childhood flicks is fun, and the featurettes are excellent. The director's introductions to the snipped sequences are insightful, while the seven scenes themselves are excellent. The picture and sound are feature quality and Robin Wright Penn's character gets some much-needed screentime. Usually deleted scenes are scrapped with good reason - these would have actually improved the film.
