Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives

4

Utterly enchanting tale of a dying farmer recalling his past incarnations

Uncle Boonmee review

Thai auteur Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Palme d’Or-winning oddity baffles and beguiles.

It’s the story of a dying farmer visited by his relatives – and not just the living ones.

Even by arthouse standards, Apichatpong’s style is oblique (add-on short A Letter To Uncle Boonmee further perplexes).

Divisive, sure – but thanks to lush photography and sound design, you’ll view the director’s weird world with the same awe he does on the bonus interview.
