Exiled Iraqi Kurd Hiner Saleem cooks up an ensemble story of great warmth in this snowy Armenian landscape - chiefly focused on a barely stated romance between a widow and a widower who clock each other at their respective spouses' graves. Struggle and endurance are keynotes, but combined with surreal sight gags, deadpan good humour and a great generosity of spirit, the film takes on a robust glow.
